It's already time for Giving Tuesday, the Black Friday of charity

Your moment

For the few people who still have some money left after the two days of shopping frenzy known as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday, celebrated the 3rd of December, is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Created in 2012 by the Belfer Center for Innovation and Social Impact in New York City, the aim of Giving Tuesday is to stimulate charitable giving, kicking off the Christmas charitable season.

Like its greedy sister celebrations Black Friday and Cyber Monday—that are to Giving Tuesday what Drizella and Anastasia are to Cinderella—Giving Tuesday also quickly spread beyond the boundaries of the United States and it’s now a truly international event present in over 150 countries.

You can join the celebration both as an individual and as an organization. In this regard, the official website contains plenty of resources and information to make the most out of this day of philanthropy.
